Where to eat in Barcelona: a hand-kept guide to the restaurants worth returning to, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.
This guide answers one question: where to eat in Barcelona. Everything here starts as a starred pin on a personal Google Maps list of Barcelona restaurants. When the list changes, the guide changes: new places get looked up, written up and added; places that fall off the list quietly drop out of the map, lists and guides, though their write-up stays online.
Each write-up is drafted from the restaurant's public Google profile — address, hours, price level, ratings and recent visitor reviews — then read and approved before it goes live. Ratings marked "mine" are personal; the star ratings are Google's.
Barcelona restaurant guides like "Where to eat in Gràcia" or "Top 5 cheap eats in Barcelona" are assembled automatically from the published guide and rebuilt whenever it changes, so a list is never stale or half-empty. Nothing outside Barcelona is covered.
Who's behind it
We're Joseph and Martin — two food-loving expats living in Barcelona who eat out far more than is sensible. This list started as our own shortlist for friends who kept asking the same question, and it grew from there.
Together we run Stamgæst, where we work directly with restaurants — which means we spend our days in kitchens and dining rooms across the city, and we know the places on this list from both sides of the pass.
